Oh don’t get me wrong, I love my Nikon D800. Sometimes, however, I think it is too good a camera to have around. I love that I can make some great prints, I love that it allows me a lot of flexibility on shoots but it genuinely is too cumbersome to be carrying around all the time.
Ever since I found out about mirrorless cameras with their tiny, almost pocket sized frames I have always considered one as a second body. Given that my gear is exclusively Nikon, it made sense to pick up a Nikon mirrorless since that would allow me to use existing gear. Or so I thought. While the rest of the camera manufacturers seem happy enough to have a universal hot shoe, Nikon goes with a proprietary one. I digress though, this post isn’t about my grievance with Nikon 🙂
